St John Ambulance Australia (NT) Inc are funded by the Northern Territory Government to provide both pre-hospital emergency care and non-emergency patient transport services to Territorians. We have locations across the Territory, in Darwin, Palmerston and Alice Springs. We have both emergency ambulance crews and non-emergency patient transport services. In Nhulunbuy, Katherine and Tennant Creek we have emergency ambulance crews. These services give 24/7 ambulance cover Territory wide.
In the 2015/2016 financial year, St John 000 emergency medical dispatchers received 49,743 emergency calls, with paramedics attending 48,868 cases and transporting 33,339 patients. That equates to 1 in 7 Territorians using one of our ambulances.
St John prides itself in the knowledge that even under often trying circumstances, our paramedics and emergency medical dispatchers continue to honour the true values of St John, integrity, respect, quality, dedication and compassion. These attributes are visible each and every day you see our crews out on the road. It is no wonder that paramedics are consistently voted by Australian’s as the ‘Most Trusted Profession’, (as voted in Readers Digest poll for over 10 years).
